About Us
Scissett Stage Door Theatre Company
was founded in 1929 as Scissett Amateur Operatic Society.
The society changed its name in the late 1990's but has remained true
to its roots and still performs shows in the village of Scissett in West
Yorkshire.
Our current 'stage' is Scissett Middle School which sees us performing
a pantomime in February and a show in October.
We welcome anyone as a member. An amateur society needs a vast array of
skills and talents to be successful, not just those who seek the bright
lights of the stage. We always need people who can contribute backstage,
have a flair for creating costumes or can help 'front of house' operations
go smoothly.
This is only a brief summary of what is required in a modern
society so if you want to get involved just contact us and join in the
fun of putting together a true community event.
SSDTC is affiliated to National Operatic and Dramatic Association
(NODA).
